Online casinos in Canada differ in more than their welcome offers. Your province, preferred games, account currency and withdrawal method all affect which options are worth considering. GamblingCA brings those details together in a practical guide for Canadian adults, covering casino games, poker, bingo, sports betting and lotteries.
Start with the casino comparison below, or use our provincial guides to understand the options where you live. For the practical side of playing, explore Canadian casino banking, game rules and the conditions attached to a bonus. A useful comparison should help you understand the whole account, from registration to withdrawal.

Important cashout condition: Jackpot City, Spin Casino, Royal Vegas and Ruby Fortune’s welcome terms allow a withdrawal limit of six times your first deposit to be applied at management’s discretion, with the remaining balance forfeited. Progressive wins are excluded from that clause. Read the full terms before accepting a bonus.
A package total is not the amount credited for a small first deposit. Each match has its own deposit stage and cap. The rules for qualifying games, maximum stakes and cashing out matter just as much as the headline figure. Our Canadian casino reviews provide a place to compare individual brands, while the welcome bonus guide explains how staged packages work.
Choosing a casino
The best starting point is how you intend to use the account. Someone comparing low-stakes slots needs different information from a player looking for live blackjack, a particular payment method or a poker tournament. Write down the features that matter before comparing an offer.
Check the service and your location
Use the website intended for your province and read its eligibility conditions. A familiar brand may use different domains, accounts or products in different markets. An advertisement saying “Canada” does not mean the same promotion, banking options or registration rules apply to every Canadian address.
Look for the business operating the service, its terms, support details and complaint process. Where a provincial directory is available, check the exact website address in that directory. A logo or a brand name on its own is less useful than a matching entry for the site you intend to use.
Compare the conditions you will actually use
Open the banking information before depositing. Check the minimum withdrawal, any fee and whether your chosen deposit method can also receive a payout. If you intend to use a bonus, read its wagering basis and eligible games. If you do not want one, establish how to decline it before making the deposit.
Browse the game lobby for the specific game or table you want. Two blackjack tables can have different payouts and dealer rules; two similarly named slots can have different mechanics. The game help screen and paytable provide the details that a category label cannot.
Find the comparison that fits your plans
For a modest starting balance, compare minimum deposit casinos and the minimum stake of the game itself. For payments in Canadian dollars, start with our CAD casino guide. If you prefer playing in a browser, the no-download guide explains what to check before installing an app.
These are separate questions. A low deposit threshold does not establish a low withdrawal threshold, and an attractive welcome package does not establish quick payouts. Choosing two or three requirements makes the comparison more useful than trying to find one casino that leads every category.
Keep a realistic spending limit
Set an entertainment budget you can afford to lose without affecting bills or savings. Decide your stopping point in time as well as money. A deposit match can require substantial additional betting, so a bigger displayed balance should not become a reason to spend more than planned.
GamblingCA’s table is a selection of commercial partners, not a complete list of every option. Our methodology explains what a comparison can establish. We do not promise winnings, a particular cashout time or that a service will accept every applicant.
Rules by province
Canada’s gambling options are shaped by provincial arrangements. Our province-by-province directory is the starting point for local guides. Location, age, the type of gambling and the particular operator all matter. Before opening an account, check the official information for your province and the terms for the exact service you intend to use.
Ontario and Alberta
Ontario has a regulated private online gambling market alongside OLG’s offering. iGaming Ontario’s player guidance explains the market, location checks and the minimum age of 19 for its internet gaming products. Its operator directory lets you check participating websites. The provincial version of a brand may differ from its wider Canada site.
Alberta’s regulated private online market launched on 13 July 2026. The Alberta government’s market information explains the roles of the Alberta iGaming Corporation and AGLC. Use AiGC’s registered-site directory for the current participating sites. The national offers above should not be treated as Alberta-specific promotions.
Other provinces and territories
Provincial services provide another starting point. PlayNow has dedicated services for British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, with different eligibility arrangements. Its BC information, Manitoba guidance and Saskatchewan guidance explain the relevant local service.
In Quebec, consult Loto-Québec’s online offering. In the Atlantic provinces, Atlantic Lottery’s casino information describes its online products; availability can differ by province. For territorial or other location-specific questions, consult the relevant territorial or provincial authority rather than assuming a service available elsewhere is available to you.
Age requirements are not uniform. For example, PlayNow’s information distinguishes Manitoba’s 18-year minimum from the 19-year requirement in British Columbia. Always check the age for the product and province concerned. Account eligibility also depends on the service’s location and registration conditions.
Physical-location checks may apply even when you already have an account. If you travel, check the rules again. A VPN does not establish eligibility or replace an operator’s location requirements. Use accurate registration information and the appropriate local site.
Games and betting
Online gambling covers several distinct activities. Casino games usually pit your wager against a game with a built-in mathematical advantage. Poker may involve competing with other players, while sports betting depends on an event and a settlement market. Understanding that difference helps you compare the right features.
Slots and progressive jackpots
Online slots range from simple reel games to titles with expanding reels, collection features and bonus rounds. Read the paytable to find the stake per spin, winning combinations, feature rules and any qualifying jackpot bet. A game title alone does not tell you its cost or potential balance swings.
Return to player, or RTP, is a theoretical long-run percentage, not a promise for your session. Volatility describes how unevenly results can arrive. A high-volatility slot can produce long stretches without a meaningful win. Neither figure tells you when a winning spin is due.
Progressive jackpots can be linked across games or casinos. The displayed jackpot is not a guaranteed prize for every stake, and some games have specific qualification rules. Look at the game’s help information rather than increasing a stake simply because a large jackpot is shown.
A useful way to understand RTP is to separate the amount deposited from the amount wagered. If C$50 is repeatedly staked and re-staked, the total wagers can exceed C$50. At a theoretical 97% RTP, C$500 of turnover corresponds to C$15 in expected loss over the long run. An individual session can lose much more or finish ahead. Our RTP and volatility guide explains the distinction.
Blackjack, roulette and baccarat
Blackjack decisions depend on the rules as well as the cards. Check the payout for a natural blackjack, whether the dealer hits or stands on soft 17, and the rules for splitting, doubling and surrender. Basic strategy can reduce avoidable mistakes under a stated ruleset, but it does not guarantee a profit.
Roulette offers straight-up numbers and broader bets such as red or black. The number of zero pockets affects the game’s mathematics. A sequence of reds does not make black due on the next spin. Betting systems change the pattern and size of stakes; they do not remove the house advantage.
Baccarat’s Player, Banker and Tie labels describe betting choices, not people you need to outplay. Read the payout and commission rules for the version you select. Side bets and special features have their own conditions and should not be assumed to offer the same value as the main bets.
Live dealer games
Live casino tables stream a dealer or presenter while you place bets through the interface. Compare the table minimum, available seats, betting window and connection requirements. Check the disconnection rules before playing: losing the video feed does not necessarily cancel a bet already accepted.
A live version can include different rules, side bets or multipliers from a software version. Use the table information panel to confirm the actual payouts and limits. A comfortable minimum stake is more useful than a room’s visual presentation.
Poker, video poker and bingo
Player-to-player poker involves other participants and may include a rake or tournament fee. Compare the game format, buy-in, blind structure and fee rather than treating every lobby labelled “poker” as equivalent. Tournament chips and cash-game balances also work differently.
Video poker is a separate casino game where you hold or discard cards against a paytable. The payout schedule affects the appropriate strategy. Familiar card names do not mean a video poker game uses the same rules or costs as a live poker table.
Bingo has its own ticket prices, patterns and prize arrangements. Check whether a prize is fixed, shared or linked to ticket sales and whether automatic marking is enabled. Extra tickets cost extra money; they should fit the budget you set rather than being added automatically.
Sports, lotteries and land-based gambling
For sports betting, identify the precise market and settlement rules. A match winner, a player statistic and an in-play wager can be treated differently if an event is postponed or a participant does not start. Parlays combine selections and add conditions; a larger possible return is not a more likely outcome.
Lottery products, charitable bingo, racing and physical casinos have their own rules and local arrangements. Check the official organiser or venue for tickets, entry requirements and opening information. An online casino account is not a substitute for those product-specific details.
Banking and payouts
Start with the account currency. A casino showing C$ balances lets you understand your gambling budget in Canadian dollars, but you should also check the currency used by your bank or wallet. Currency conversion, card-provider charges and intermediary fees can affect what leaves or reaches your account.
Choosing a payment method
Interac is familiar to many Canadian players, but the exact deposit and payout service depends on the operator and payment provider. Read the cashier instructions, use your own account and check the transaction limits. Do not assume a payment method shown on a homepage is available to every account.
Cards, bank transfers, e-wallets and prepaid products have different practical limits. A card accepted for a deposit may not support withdrawals. A prepaid voucher can fund an account without providing a destination for winnings. Ask how a payout will be made before choosing a deposit-only method.
Cryptocurrency payments add issues such as the supported asset, network, address format and exchange rate. Transfers can be difficult or impossible to reverse if sent incorrectly. A casino balance converted from crypto into dollars may also be affected by conversion terms. Use a method you understand rather than selecting one only because a deposit is described as quick.
Deposit and withdrawal minimums
Imagine a casino accepts a C$10 deposit but requires at least C$30 for a withdrawal. Those two limits can coexist. If your balance is C$22, the ability to deposit C$10 does not mean you can request a C$22 payout by that method. Check the withdrawal policy before funding the account; do not keep gambling simply to reach a cashout threshold.
Minimums depend on the casino and payment method. Our deposit versus withdrawal minimums guide explains how to compare the two figures, and the withdrawal limits guide covers caps on larger balances.
Understanding withdrawal times
A casino withdrawal has several stages: you submit the request, the operator reviews it, the payment is released and the receiving provider processes it. A quoted processing time may cover only one stage. Account checks, weekends, an unsuitable payout method or an unresolved bonus condition can affect the total time.
Check the minimum and maximum withdrawal, daily or monthly limits, fees and any instalment arrangements. A large balance does not automatically mean the whole amount can be sent in one transfer. If an estimate matters to you, establish what event starts the clock and what the estimate actually includes. Our fast payout comparison guide looks at the full process rather than treating an advertised processing estimate as a guaranteed arrival time.
Account verification and payment records
Account verification can include requests for proof of identity, address or ownership of a payment method. Use accurate details when registering and provide requested documents through the operator’s official secure process. Completing a registration form does not necessarily complete every check needed before withdrawal.
Keep transaction references and copies of relevant correspondence. If a payout is delayed, ask support which stage it has reached and what, specifically, is outstanding. GamblingCA cannot access a casino account or release a payment, but our Contact page provides a way to report an inaccurate explanation on this website.
Bonuses explained
A welcome bonus is a conditional promotion. “Up to C$1,000” may describe several deposit matches rather than one payment. To understand an offer, separate the deposit you make, the bonus credited and the amount that can eventually be withdrawn.
Deposit matches and wagering
A 100% match adds a bonus equal to a qualifying deposit, up to the stated cap. If a stage matches up to C$400, a C$50 qualifying deposit normally produces a C$50 bonus under that match rate, not C$400. Do not deposit more simply to reach a promotional ceiling.
Wagering requirements multiply a stated amount. For example, a C$100 bonus with 35× bonus wagering requires C$3,500 of qualifying wagers. If a different offer applies the multiplier to deposit plus bonus, the calculation changes. Identify the basis before comparing the numbers.
Game contribution matters too. In an illustrative promotion where a game contributes 10%, a C$10 bet counts as C$1 towards the requirement. Some games contribute nothing or cannot be used with the bonus at all. Read the specific game’s contribution rather than assuming every bet counts equally.
A smaller multiplier is only one part of a low-wagering bonus comparison. A 20× requirement on deposit plus bonus can demand more turnover than 30× on the bonus alone. For an illustrative C$50 deposit and C$50 bonus, those calculations are C$2,000 and C$1,500 respectively. Our bonus wagering calculator helps separate the multiplier, its basis and game contribution; it does not predict whether you will finish with money left.
Free spins, expiry and cashout restrictions
With free spins, check how many you receive, their stake value, the permitted games and when they expire. Spin winnings may become bonus funds with further wagering. Betway’s welcome terms, for example, apply 50× wagering to winnings from its bonus spins; those winnings are not immediately unrestricted cash.
The four other welcome packages in our table have a seven-day claim window and 35× bonus wagering in their published offer terms. Their possible six-times-first-deposit withdrawal restriction is especially important if you are comparing them by headline size. Withdrawing can also end eligibility for unused welcome stages.
Maximum bet rules apply while wagering a bonus. Breaking a stake limit or using an excluded game can affect winnings even if the game lets you place the bet. If the offer does not suit the way you want to play, find out how to decline it before betting with the credited funds.
Bonuses are optional. They should not turn a planned short session into a reason to chase a wagering target or add another deposit. The casino bonuses guide also explains offers with different entry conditions, including why no-deposit promotions can still have verification and cashout restrictions. Read the full linked terms and keep your original spending limit.
Mobile and safer play
A mobile browser is often the simplest way to reach a casino account. An app may add convenience, but its availability can depend on your device and location. Use links from the operator’s official website or the relevant app store rather than an unsolicited download or message.
Before playing on Android or an iPhone or iPad, check that game controls, stake amounts and account balances are readable on your screen. A live table also needs a sufficiently stable connection. If your connection drops, follow the game’s reconnection process and check the recorded result before placing more bets.
Payments deserve the same attention on a phone as on a computer. Seeing Apple Pay or Google Pay on a device does not establish that a casino accepts it, or that winnings can return through the same route. Check the cashier for your own account and keep the confirmation for each completed transaction.
Protect your account
Use a unique password, enable additional sign-in protection where offered and keep your device updated. Never give a password or one-time code to someone who contacts you unexpectedly. For payments and document requests, open the official website directly and use its secure account area.
If you share a device, sign out after using the account and keep payment details inaccessible to children. Game history, account statements and deposit limits should be as easy to find as the lobby. Take a moment to locate those controls before you start.
Know when to stop
Set money and time limits before playing. Avoid gambling with borrowed money or money needed for essential expenses. Taking a break, lowering a limit or stopping altogether are all options; you do not need to finish an offer first.
If you are chasing losses, hiding spending or finding it difficult to stop, consider independent support. Self-exclusion schemes differ in their scope, so check which websites or venues an arrangement covers. Our Responsible Gambling page links to Canadian services and explains practical next steps.
In Ontario, iGaming Ontario identifies BetGuard as a way to opt out of all regulated online gambling in the province. An exclusion from one operator elsewhere may have a narrower scope. Read the programme’s coverage before enrolling and consider practical barriers such as removing saved payment methods and blocking gambling notifications.

Canadian gambling FAQs
Do the casino offers apply everywhere in Canada?
No. The table describes offers on the brands' Canada sites for eligible new customers. Ontario and Alberta have separate provincial sites and terms. Check the operator's location, age and account conditions before registering or accepting a promotion.
How old do you have to be to gamble online in Canada?
The minimum age depends on the province and product. For example, iGaming Ontario's internet gaming products require players to be 19 or older, while PlayNow's Manitoba service has an 18-year minimum. Check the official requirements for the service and province concerned.
What does a casino bonus of up to C$1,600 mean?
It describes the maximum conditional bonus package, not free cash credited for any deposit. Jackpot City's listed package consists of four 100% deposit matches, each capped at C$400. Qualifying deposits, wagering, claim deadlines and cashout conditions apply.
Does 35× wagering apply to my deposit as well as the bonus?
It depends on the promotion. The four 35× welcome offers in this table state that their multiplier applies to the bonus amount. A C$100 bonus therefore requires C$3,500 in qualifying wagers. Game contributions can change how much each bet counts.
Can I withdraw casino winnings through Interac?
Only if the operator supports an Interac payout for your account. A deposit option does not automatically establish withdrawal support. Check payout availability, verification requirements, minimums, limits, fees and processing stages in the cashier before depositing.
Can I use an online casino without taking a bonus?
You can choose to look for play without a promotion. Check the operator's process for declining or removing a bonus before using the credited funds. Once bonus play has begun, cancellation and withdrawal conditions may be different.
Are free casino games the same as real-money games?
A demo can help you learn controls and rules without staking money, where it is available. Demo credits cannot be withdrawn. Check the exact game version, paytable and stake before moving to real-money play, and do not treat demo results as a prediction.
Can GamblingCA help with a delayed casino withdrawal?
We cannot access player accounts or release payments. Contact the operator's official support team with your transaction reference and ask what remains outstanding. You can contact Jeff Lagerquist about an inaccurate statement in a GamblingCA article.
